Crossed by many rivers Serbia nowadays gives an impression of a mosaic of unique natural landscapes. Western Serbia with the national park Tara and its canyons and lakes, most visited mountain Zlatibor, monastery heritage of the “Lilac Valley”, river Drina and cinematic ethnic village Drvengrad is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Eastern Serbia can compete in beauty and lets you enjoy Đerdap gorge, the most marvellous part of Danube’s flow. Southern Serbia is proud of Devil’s Town, unique natural phenomenon nominated to be new Wonder of the World. Northern Vojvodina region differs with its natural reserves, various fauna and wine terraces that reflect in waters of Sava, Tisa and Danube.


Belgrade

Adventurous and energetic, Belgrade is situated on the banks of the Sava and Danube, warmly welcoming visitors from all over the world. The history of this rapidly developing city is revealed in front of you, as this picturesque, eclectic and vibrant capital has been witnessing a turbulent history, which has shaped it into what it is today. Forty armies besieged the city, and thirty eight times this capital was reborn from ashes. Belgrade is the capital of Serbia with the population of 1.6 million people and stands strong with its grandiose buildings, architecturally reminiscent of the Kingdom of Serbia.
The most famous and most important Serbian architectural monuments are located in Belgrade: Kalemegdan Fortress, numerous cultural monuments, lush parks, impressive squares, and city fountains. Belgrade is one of the greenest capitals of Europe, graced with large, beautiful parks and the Sava and Danube rivers flowing into the center of some city districts.
Nowadays, Belgrade is the capital of Serbian culture, education and science. Among thousands of events organized here yearly, are strong theatre performances, art exhibits, concerts, conferences and film festivals.

Novi Sad

Novi Sad, the capital of Vojvodina, is the second most populated city in Serbia. It is located on the left bank of Danube, only 90 km away from Belgrade. With a population of more than 300 000 people, it is an industrial, educational and cultural center of Northern Serbia built where the Balkan and European cultures meet. Thanks to its dynamic history and influences of different cultures from the East and the West, Novi Sad has been referred to as the “Serbian Athens”. Fortresses from the 17th century, the Fruška-gora mount with its 17 culturally and historically important monasteries, stunning estates and the attractive center of the city, all make Novi Sad a fantastic touristic destination.
The city of culture and festivals is famous as the host of numerous events: EXIT – the biggest musical festival in Southeastern Europe, the theatre festival „Sterijino pozorje“ devoted to the famous Serbian playwright Jovan Sterija Popović, the Children art festival devoted to the Serbian children poet Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, the International jazz festival, the Cinema Festival „Cinema City“ etc. Among all of Novi Sad’s impressive attractions, the most prominent one is the Danube, Europe’s second biggest river flowing in the center of Novi Sad. When visiting Novi Sad everyone must find some time to walk along the local Belgrade quay and visit a restaurant of Serbian national cuisine as well as one of the numerous beaches of Novi Sad, for instance – Štrand.
